The Swan Is Singing...

Imagine trying to build concrete blocks in a line in the hope of building a stronghold upon them. Then in an instant you feel you are one of the blocks in the line yourself. Then suddenly the camera changes into a tower view & you see the blocks have taken domino shapes & before you notice what’s wrong or what should be done, an invisible force pushes the first piece.

Me & my hopes of fixing things up have already fallen. I tried my best not to trigger the next fall. Should turn on CNN to check the amount of damage on this sinking ship…

every morning when we wake the dominos start to fall, it is our own perception that defines that as a scary thing. I am trying to remember a time as a child or even as an adult where if i saw a massive line of dominos i wouldnt want to start the chain reaction, and then at the end of it all i would be smiling.
i like the thought that each domino catches his mates as they falls

Well Omid, some things just can't be fixed. It is sad, but sometimes we must just move on. But, I know how hard moving on can be. It can take a lot of time. I hope that I do not see your ship sinking on CNN! ;) Have courage my friend. :)

Maybe we should quit stopping the process. Dominos are made to fall down. Stop controling.

Happy Norouz, Omid.

Imagine it? You've just perfectly described the basic theme of my life! Sounds like you are having a bit of a tough time... I wish you the best. As much as I hate to admit it, in my life, yours or anyone else's, sometimes no matter how hard you try, if the foundation isn't strong enough, it tumbles. There may be cracks and flaws you aren't aware of. At the time it's a crisis, but you never know if it may pave the way for something even better.

What would happen if one of the dominos somehow had the strength to push in a different direction?

The thing of being a domino in some projects and falling sometimes is not a pain; that's all we are. The thing that hurts is suddenly finding yourself in a weaker position that you expect to be. I so agree with Hydra, quit stopping the process. Just be careful for the next project to estimate your position correctly. Here is a new year; like everthing start over again. :)

I like what Spyder says.
Sometimes what we see as dominoes falling, are just the natural progression and things happen as they are meant to.
Imagine the fear(pain) and uncertainty of waiting for the line to fall, when it threatens to do so, but never quite gets to that point.
Now get off that sinking ship, and start swimming towards the shore!

Ola

Well dominoes are bound to fall because of how they are structured..

Life is similar to dominoes but we are able to control it from falling apart if we have some controls or safeguards.

We are so obssessed about being "different", being "unique", being true to ourselves that sometimes we forget what the self is. What is wrong with being one piece in a long line of pieces when the line stretches all the way to the realisation of an existential truth ?

A domino is a piece, granted, but it is a piece placed to form an effect. If only we understand what or who is the Force that places the domino there and to what effect, then and only then can we truly decide whether falling "into place" is really as bad as we imagined it to be.

Cheers.

behrooz - :-) well I'll be more worried if the last one does not fall & stands alone...

spyder - that was a brilliant take :-) & it is all true as well. Comes to think abt it I C the pieces falling on daily bases.

david - tnx mate. The ship will survive according to BBC as CNN had not covered the news ;-)

hydra - !!! yep !!! that is all true! there is no joy in stopping the line. Excellent one. Tnx Hydra. Happy Noruz to U as well.

LW - yeah it is true. I am known as the cool guy among my friends but it is not that I am cool. It is more that I bare the problems in & when it overflows my capacity I blow up & end up hopeless... Guess it is just a transient phase...

jarvenpa - 1. It would save the rest from falling

2. It would stop the normal course of an event

3. The unexpected might have happened... :-)

Kimia - that is exactly the moral I took from this all. I overestimated the strength perhaps. Yes this shall pass. The next chapter is already open :-D

Chitty - I left the sinking Titanic on a rescue boat. Will know the number of casualties later... ;-)

em - yep :-D we can be a concrete domino, resisting the imposed fall ;-) good one.

bintulhaq - well it is not being a domino piece that is a problem but misestimating a position is what truely hurts. It is destructing to feel you are a concrete block with all the strength & then suddenly wake up to C U were just a domino piece, made to fall...

NBB - why is it that I always have to jump first ;-)
