A,B,C,D...

You know what?
I am still undecided!
I can't seem to decide which one is more tragic;
9/11, Titanic or the first day of school... hmmm...

I'm still reeling from the cancelation of Full House, Family Matters and Seinfeld.

The Titanic is something I have no sympathy for. (And I'm sure as a result I'm going to drown to death since karma enjoys haunting me). I mean, come on, a boat hit an iceberg, that isn't hard to do. Nowhere near as easy and tragic as a two planes into landmark buildings.

The first day of school, no doubt. You have to pee in the same bathroom as all of your friends (strangers at this point), decisions need to be made as to whether you want chocolate milk or white milk. The expectation of having to 'line up, single file' is bad enough but the terror of having to remember which school bus to get on at the end of the day and what stop to get off at) is surely the thing that has sent me into years of therapy. Years, I say! ;)

Yes, I was 5. Yes, I'm still bitter. =)

What I think is most tragic is the hundreds of millions of children who are doomed to live in poverty because of lack of educational opportunity. Many will never know a first day of school!

I actually used to always like the first day of school, new uniform, new stationery, meeting up with old friends, it was all very exciting. It was the other two hundred and something days that I had a problem with ;-)

Considering the impact these events have had on mankind... I'd say "first day at school". Up til then, most of us were free thinking, creative, and life loving creatures. Look at us now... messed up.

Human beings tend to exaggerate the impact of single disasters and neglect the ongoing misery they call 'life'.

Wait...livewire got chocolate milk at her school???? Oh, life really is unfair.

Someone once said something like "comedy is when someone else falls down, but tragedy is when I have a hangnail".

I actually don't remember my first day at school. Probably much too long ago. But I do know we never got a choice of milk, and other girls had naturally curly hair.

this year it was mky first in long which i had no school & I actually could rest in bed while others celebrated (mourned) first day of school ;-) however I still found myself anxious for no good reason!

As a teacher's pet it is hard to get back to your duties after a long summer break ;-)

Yet agn imagine after 3 months teacher's welcome you with a bunch of homework for the next day as their first act!!! I mean hey doesn' HELLO come first???

I don't remember the first day of school so it wasn't tragic for me but the first day of work!!! too tragic to forget or compare with titanic.
