A Toy Plane Without Fuel...

As a child I knew my brain worked much better than most adults.
I had a clear vision & deep inside I felt as a wise adult.
I was just inches shorter, didn't know how to make money or make love.

I knew time was the lost element & as the clock marched on,
I was getting closer to adulthood.

Now I am tall enough, have graduated & make enough money
I make love, I worry about numerous adulthood issues.
Yet I no longer have the clear vision & deep inside
I feel as a stupid child.

So, you have only grown a few inches since childhood? Well, thats ok my dwarvish friend, its not the height that counts, its the heart! :)

Glad you have enough money and no problems with women. Wish I could say the same! ;)

Seriously, my best memories are of my childhood. I can see clearly into my past, but I often can't see much of a future. At least I have some plans for tomorrow.

david - lol well very FEW indeed ;-) ashamed to reveal myself as a giant of 1.89 m or 6 foot sth with the footsize of 12.5 US measures ;-)

yet you know how it goes with childhood, no worries no responsibilities, just dreams & then suddenly...

em - when a child we dream to become adults but as adults we wish to experience childhood again...

Well, I am with you with a small diffrence: 1. I did not have that vision in childhood and 2. I have doubts about the bit 'stupid child'! I think a stupid adult is all I deserve. Children are never stupid, are they? Then again, I don't feel stupid, I just feel badly stuffed and rotten. And it is not any better than being stupid. It is just torturous.

When you're young everything seems so simple. You don't have the kind of responsibilities and problems that adults face. But when you get older and you do have those responsibilites, things do seem less clear.

Nice post.

I think perhaps the wise child is still there in your heart.

You lost your clear vision that's why you see yourself a stupid child. You need your vision back to see the wise man you are.
By the way, I don't see you mentioned your weight ;) seems it makes you blush :D

You said it! Isn't it true how things reverse as time goes on? If we could only blend the desired aspects...

i'm still on that 6 foot 12.5 footsize :)

no, not really :) i know what you mean though. last weekend i was appliance shopping for the new house and i didnt feel quite right doing it. i had no clue how to buy ANY of the house appliances as it has always been mummy's job doing that. i was so tempted to pick up the phone and call her and ask how to choose a frigde when i realised that i have just stepped onto the other side.

the adulthood side.

it's super scary.i want to go back being a child.

So, you are really a Bigfoot! ;) Actually, you are not so big. Do you watch any basketball? Ever hear of Shaquille O'neal aka Shaq? He is 7 foot 3 inch and wears size 26! Now that's some serious Sasquatch action!

When we are young we want to move fastforward to adulthood and we get ature enough to be responsible for what we're doing ,we rush to slow down everything.Time is our enemy!

behrooz - :-) well as an adult whenever sth goes wrong or an unexpected action comes up we just call it childish. Children are our scapegoat through unreasonable actions.

juliana - great comment. That is true! with all adulthood responsibilities there is no time left for visual experience. IT gets lost among duties.

jarvenpa - the child lives in all of us, but locked away somewhere within. We can let it out or keep it behind closed doors...

kimia - perhaps I need nu glasses to fix the vision :-)

no fear nowadays. last year I weighed 110 kg!!! gigantic really! but in 2 months I lost 26 kg through diet & excercise. Now I am standing on 86kg :-D pretty convincing :-D

LW - we can perhaps neglect the undesired but I don know why it is the saddest memories that always live on!!!

danyanova - seems like leaving the safety to discover a new aspect adulthood. Sth we must live through.

david - I am a big NBA fan :-) during my days in the states I used to watch every single Celtics match. (Larry Bird era) I am not big by their standards but I still find it difficult to find me shoes :-D so I ask my aunts to send them once in a while :-D

sof!a - well said :-D

mindinside - yeah unfortunately live is a one way street. Childhood is to disappear but we know we have it hidden somewhere within us ;-)

spooky - yeah life is full of such paradoxes. Time oh Time, may U stop & relieve our fears :-D

Hey, I didn't know you once lived over here! I used to be a big fan of the L.A. Lakers when Magic Johnson was playing against Larry Bird. These days I pull for the Indianapolis Pacers. They are in the first round of the playoffs now. Interestingly, Larry Bird is now the Pacers team President! A few years ago, he coached the Pacers. Regarding shoes, I'm lucky to only be size 11. Even here, size 12.5 is not a common sight! :)

From childhood to adulthood, your body grows enormously but the brain grows a few centimeters. So you see it becomes over loaded.

Give that fella a break, man !

Hows that for an explanation ?

Omid, me confused naked ape man! Is Bingala your Farsi blog?

I just saw a segment on CNN where they interviewed a 7 foot tall guy from the U.S. (originally from Dominican Republic) who plays basketball for a team in Iran. Very interesting! I guess there are a lot of B-ball fans there. He showed the reporter his stash of illegal alcohol and bacon in his apartment! :)

Wondering how one can live in Riverside, CA and not be a Lakers fan? ;)

Dr O2 said...

David - was in Riverside, Ca. Celtix are no where near their good days but Bird continued well. I do follow NBA still as a habit :-D

NBB - Tnx :-) I am all easy as nth can really be done about it!

jac - n yet as we age the brain shrinks & the body weakens :-)

Dr O2 said...

Yep David in fact it is! also tnx for the notice! I sometimes confuse IDs ;-)

Yeah I saw that guy play! he is a good player. Lately basketball here has advanced & we've got 7 ft players of our own now :-D

as for Lakers, that is what everyone told me but my aunt's husband was a Celtix fan & before I knew abt NBA I was a Celtix fan ;-) always had to hide it from classmates though! lol
