La vie c'est plus marrant en chantant

He was too happy as they put it. Always in an extraordinary mood. They called it an elevated mood. His laughter injected joy to all in its range. Signing the day in with a magical cheer-up-the-day-has-come song & signing out with a forget-your-sadness one. The guys in white enjoyed it as much as others but envied his painlessness. They marked him as a manic, gave him unidentified depressing pills. He doesn’t sing or laugh anymore; birds are numb, people are depressed, whitecoats miss the joy injections, doubting the guidlines in their textbooks...

One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon - instead of enjoying the roses blooming outside our windows today.
I know this person very well... and for a very long time.
Nice post as always Doc.
Cheers :)

If you manifest your happiness and success, broken hearts around you will ruin your happiness without being aware of doing this. It’s not their fault, they feel so sad not because you are happy but because they don't feel as happy as you are. Notice that you might have done that too. It is not true that we can always control our feelings. I believe that if you make anybody sad even for one second you will get sad for one second.
If you nag all the time, and suck the energy of people around you by showing off your disappointment and make them feel sorry for you, you will lose your wise friends to some gloomy people.
Do not suggest being mysterious.

Ah yes, conform to my textbook guidelines or suffer the wrath of _____ (enter med here). For some people, you are just never enough, no matter how you are...

Yes my dear Doc, this has been the big trouble with the society, in the old days they put us in chain, now days get rid of us with an injection. Unlike the rest? Your're in big trouble man.
Be happy Doc!

From my studies of psychology (my first degree), I know something of mania. There are different levels of mania (or perhaps there is a continuum). A person who is hypomanic is always happy, full of energy, and can easily make others laugh. This sort of personality is often found in great comedians; for example, Robin Williams. Hypomania usually does not require any sort of treatment, unless there are other symptoms like psychosis. Full blown mania (as it is sometimes referred to), can lead to some very detrimental behaviors, though. A manic person might so on lavish spending sprees, even if it causes them to loose all their money. Or they might have very grandiose delusions, such as believing they are a King or some other great person. This type of personality does need psychiatric help to "bring them back down to Earth". I wonder about the person you are describing, though. His behavior doesn't seem that extreme.

Your posts reminds of surreal writings especially when I start reading them from the FIRST point of view.

Farzad - yeah. Yet it gets somewhat disturbing to see the happy faces of others :-) guess no matter what, ones life is never considered perfect!

Kimia - well said. Action & reaction. People with high voltage are truely pleasent. Somewhat a resource to recharge our batteries.

livewire - textbooks are very funny. They are always changing yet they are the refernce toour actions.

Gazankhan - well won't be disagreeing with that. In fact due to my own diagnosis I am a bipolar ;-) now perhaps in the depression phase. when transition happens you'll C the manic side of me ;-)

David - you've got loads of valuable information there. Well I have seen both type. Hypomanic in my openion are the successful people living around us. The energetic are among these :-)

Well the manic have got problems but live a painless life! everything seems so nice to them & they really pass the energy to others. They are in need of therapy but yet one can argue for the reason one should bring these painless to the painful life :-)

shirin - tnx Shirin. happy to C U back.

Frank - well me ain't that good in the topic but I can say they do fit in the HALLUCINATION category :-)

dr a - well textbooks are textbooks but well one can always hope they change as they are what they judge us with :-S

We always fear that which we do not understand. And in trying to understand it the best way we know how is to gain control over it or to alter it to the extent where it makes sense.
Sadly... not always for the better.

me - well happiness & sadness are both contagous with no real prevention method for either yet ;-)

Chitty - yep. Everything normal is defined as most people are & something not accordingly is considered abnormal! no one really cares if that might be a better quality...
